Over Heating issues. 1999 3.0

I started over heating the other week so I got if of the Interstate and had it towed home. It got close to the red.

This is what I have done.

Drained rad from lowest hose. Petcock was broken. Coolant was red from the rust.

Removed T-stat.

Prestone Super Flush ran it without T-stat

Took it to radiator shop to buy new radiator, Owner said I had other problems because the top radiator hose was to tight for not having the t stat in. He suggested continuing with flush, replacing t stat and replacing fluids.

Removed broken petcock and nothing came out. Used water, wire, air still nothing comes out.

Drained Radiator from lower hose added another super flush ran engine without t stat, thinking pressure will blow out cloged petcock.

After 1/4 tank of gas and too many beers it uncloged.

Replaced t stat filled with fluid drove to friends house, stop and go traffic, temp was fine wait for engine to cool to add more fluid didn't take much.

Driving home it over heats. let it cool and nursed it home.

Buy water pump replace water pump, serpintine belt, saving as much new fluid as possible.

Drove it hard and it stayed cool.

Next day after work in bank drive through it begins to over heat just a little...went to the bar across the street. let it cool. Drove home a few blocks away never got to temp. this brings us to today.

Brother came over started it up brought it up to temp turned heat to max cool air then hot then cool on and on.

No smoke coming from tail pipe only a little water that goes away as it heats up.

Can it be that the lower rad sludge at petcock valve is circulating and clogging up t stat. Did I warp the head at initial over heat. Air bubbles.

What next?

sounds like something is clogged...might be the rad...if you warped the head the truck would run ****ty...but i think you caught it in time to avoid serious damage...welcome to r/f btw
