P0401 & p0402

Hey everyone,

bought an 01 Ranger XLT a couple months ago and the check engine light was one. Pulled the code and it was p0401. Mechanic said the EGR valve was bad so I replaced it. Cleared the code and about a week later it popped up. Cleared it a few times before I moved into the next step.

i swapped out the DPFE sensor and cleared the code. A month went by and nothing. Took a drive yesterday across the island and when I got about 35 minutes into the drive I started getting real rough idling. It completely stalled out when I put the truck in reverse. No CEL at this point so I ran the scanner just to be safe and a p0402 popped up. Kind of curious what the next step would be or if it might be something I installed wrong? I’m not sure if I may have put the tubes in wrong but tracking them they both lead to the intake so not sure it matters at the same time. Considering just taking the dpfe into Home Depot to see if they’ll swap it for a new one in case the one I put on there is faulty but want to see if anyone has opinions first. Thanks! I’m not very mechanically inclined but I’m very YouTube inclined lol
