Well, new computer and still not running right....FML...found out the one thing the shop didnt replace was the O2 sensors...making them replace them for free. If that doesn't work then I'm gonna be forced to take the truck to ford and have them diagnose it.

on the bright side turns out my old computer has a Jet performance chip on it...will be selling it on here =]

it actually goes right in the back of the computer, but is still only for 2003 models.

I actually know someone that works at ford, need to talk to him and see if he can't get me a deal on getting a diagnostic...i'll be shocked if the 2 new O2 sensors fix it

yeah if those chips were more versatile that would be a deal of a life time,

Yeah since you have a buddy that works for them then he wont try to squeeze every last penny out of you like they always do

I'd be surprised if the O2 sensors fixed it too, but you never know, i mean i guess it would be possible if they were both out then the computer would probably be lost, then again theoretically of course it should hae a code for that

anyways good luck

yea it's just stuck rich...between myself and the shop we've tried everything in the book (except replacing the O2 sensors).

its really weird. at first it'll run great, smooth as anything, then BAM, it bogs and idles rough and starts running rich again....its driving me nuts. I've already dropped 1k or more in parts into this thing...

yeah the O2 sensors could be reading lean, mine were and it messed with my milage, but then again my truck is like 15 years older than yours and may relie on them more, and it does make sence that it would run fin and then instantly bad cause after it warms up a bit is when it states listening to the O2 sensors, so let me know what you find out

yeah i wouldn't give them much longer either, its not like it takes all day, yes rusted O2 sensors are a pain in the *** but they got lifts, which help, so it shouldn't take that long, if you end up doing it your self have fun, mine went bad after only 20,000 miles and it was still a ***** cuting the wires off the old one and using a dep wall socket, and then to put the new one on (mine only has one) i had to take the whole fender well out pain in my *** and it was the side i hit a deer with so it was a ***** to get back in,

and its bull **** when people don't pay attention and cut people off hell i had to stand on my brakes when someone pulled out in front of me pissed me off i was hanging out the window screaming at him, lol, and my girl friends dad got cut off on his motorcycle a while back and ended up with reconstructive surgery, people just need to open their damn eye's, i hope everything works out for ya, this is the exact reason i refuse to ever go to a shop

dropped the new O2 sensors in...still rich.

after talking to the mechanic it dawned on me...pepboys (ugh...) might have given me the wrong size injectors. Going to throw the old ones back in tmrw and see if anything changes.

If the truck stops running rich pepboys is going to have one pissed off customer in their store tmrw stirring up a **** storm.

Normally I'm 100% against purchasing ANYTHING from them, but i was desperate and need injectors ASAP. I can safely say that I will never purchase another part from them again. **** Pepboys royally.

haha yeah i usualy stick with advanced auto, right now my trucks being a **** box, i went off roading and either something got wet ( so i'm letting it dry out) or the crank sensor since i got a code for the electrical system that contains the ignition control, and since its not sparking, and of course the ****ing crank sensor is on the assembly with the crank pully and of course you need to take the pully off to take out these two screws and of course you need and impact wrench, which i don't have and don't have space for without removing some parts like at least the fan if not the radiator too, and if it doesn't start that means i get to have it towed to the shop, yay lucky me, well let me know how it goes with the fuel injectors go, is it running good other than running rich?

yeah it does suck, i wish i had a distributer i would of been done with it tuesday, everything is dried out there isn't any water laying anywere now and no start if it were just something being wet it will deffinantly be dry by the time i get home since its really nice out today, but i scaned it talked to my mechanic he's really good at pin pointing stuff, so far he's been right every time, my friend who goes to school for auto mechanic is coming over today with his impact wrench, i thing i might have to go back to advance cause i'm pretty sure the wiring harness that is on the sensor they gave me is too short since it has to go from the crank pully up the block then back behing the intake manifold, long run for short wires and i'm not splicing somehting that cost 142 dollars,

yeah i see not so its running exreemly rich mie was running rich at one time and blew black **** out the tail pipe, but didn't run bad, did you get to play with you injectors yet?

haha i feel ur pain...ur 89 uses coil packs?

and yea i pulled the old injectors out, sure enough its the wrong ****ing ones. Went back to pepboys this morning, b!tched to the manager and he was like what am i gonna do without the boxes? im like idk, thats your problem, your guys swore to me that it was the right part, it's been installed anyways. I just want my money back. and he started stuttering on his words like i just cursed him or something, then he says that he cant do that. so i said fine, just order me new injectors, but if their the wrong ones i'm gonna be pissed and i will be back with less resentment, needless to say he stuttered again so i slapped him with my pimp hand and was like B!TCH gimmie mah fuel injectors, he cried a little...i laughed.

long story short i'll have new injectors tmrw after 3pm.

IAC for sure. injectors on modern cars rarely go bad. they honestly dont just quit. they get gummed up = bad MPG but car will run "fine". IAC = stalling, stutter, hesitation, idle rough, poor MPG, poor acceleration etc

well i replaced my crank pully today (which the things the crank sensor reads was bent) replaced every thing thankfully took a sensor from the junk yard too, went to start it, the truck bent the things on the crank pully again, narrowed it down to either the bracket that holds the sensor is bad which i doubt two of them are bad since i pulled yet another pully, cant get the damn thing to seat right ****ed with it for like 4.5 hours, or i'm thinking that there is something wrong with the crank shaft, though it looks like its spinning alright, no hellish sounds, and neither does it have any play in it, i'm stumped, what do you think?

oh lovely just after you just fixed your truck after going trough that whole ordeal, well if you have a 5spd manual Mazda m50D-R1 then i can get you one that I'll sell you cheep, from my truck assuming they didn't change the bolt pattern, since i got a new truck with a 3.0! since i found out i had spun a bearing in my 89 i don't really need the transmission since assuming i can swap in a 2.3 from a 93 then it already has a transmission the only thingn wrong with that truck is a major electical problem.
