Replaced entire AC system and now it kinda works
Hello all, I recently replaced the entire AC system on my 2002 ranger 3.0 V6, and at first the every appeared to function. I did every thing I was supposed to do as far as I can tell. I replaced the condenser, evaporator, hose lines, orifice tube, dryer, and compressor. I also added PAG oil and refrigerant. I vacuumed the entire system as well and the vacuum held. At first the compressor came on and the AC in the cab was blowing cold air. When I turned the engine off and turned it back on again, the compressor did not come on and the the blower fan would only come on when the dials in the cab were placed on max AC but no cold air this time. I also noticed that my manifold gauges read higher on the low pressure side, but lower on the high pressure side. I tested the compressor clutch with a couple of wires from the positive and negative terminals of the battery and the clutch did engage. I was also able to spin the clutch smoothly by hand. I am not really sure why its not working at this point, but any feedback or info would be appreciated. Thank you.
