Tune Up

Hey everyone got a few questions. My truck is idling a little rough and i have read a few threads and decided it is time for a tune up based on what the other people have been doing. So i am thinking plugs, wires, new coil and cleaning the tb but i dont know how to take the tb apart or what to clean it with etc. Also i have only had the truck for about a year now and dont know when should change the o2 sensor. Anything else i should look into or think about changing let me im open for advice. Also some brand names on stuff would be great too. Thanks

Wouldn't replace the coil, unless it was bad($150.00 from a dealer),because it should be a DIS coil pack set up,....plugs,wires and a t/b cleaning is a good start, depending on the mileage, also getting the injectors flushed

Ford recomends "Power Flushing" the injectors, this is a procedure where they use a flush machine direct to the fuel rail, where as through the tank it gets diluted in the fuel,....not gonna lie to ya,80% of the techs I work with say it is better to power flush, and a few says it don't really matter,I know from past experience I had better luck with Power Flushing.............

The o2 I wouldn't worry about,2 ways to clean t/b,here we take it off n clean it with a foam carb cleaner from Motorcraft part# PM-2,also you can take off the air tube to the t/b n clean it on the vehicle and use like a tooth brush(old one) to clean the throat and fire it up n throttle it up a lil n spray some in the t/b while running,if you do this way, disconnect the battery after you do it because engine light may kick on,change the pcv n fuel filter, other than that you should be good to go
