To Turbo, or not to Turbo?

im kinda a guy who doesnt know about high performance and i was just wandering if and why should i put a turbo on my truck... friends say i need to put a turbo on me truck but im not sure i really wanna... can yall explain to me why i should and/or should not put a turbo on me truck?

If you dont know.. dont turbo it.

Loss of reliability.
$$$$.. custom fabrication needed
May have to upgrade other parts.
Loss of fuel mileage.
May shorten engine life ***

Its basically for more power.
None of the stock ranger engines will
easily adapt to a turbo.

I'm not really good with these things either,but I thought Ford would install Whipple superchargers on the 3.0 now. Someone care to explain how this would affect the life and reliability of the motor.

dont turbo a 6 cylinder. just not worth it. if you want to really do it right spend the extra money on a super charger. keep the turbos for the 4 bangers and diesels. and dont come back with the supra comment cuz a supercharger would have done a whole lot better then twin turbos.

all in all...dont waste your money and save your money for sumthin that would really work.
