Vacuum line question

Hello all,
I have a 1994 xlt 3.0 4x4 and I have a question about a vacuum line I'm having trouble with.
SO on the back of the air box there is 2 vacuum hoses, one goes to the hot air vent thing on the intake before the airfilter, and the other goes to the intake manifold. Well the one that goes to the manifold has a "T" joint in it and that splits the line and goes to a wire loom.
What the heck is that for?
Mine's is all corroded and it's such a thin vacuum line that I don't see a way to repair it without running a new line all the way from where ever that small/thin/hard line goes to. As of now I just have it capped on both sides and it doesn't seem to be hurting anything. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks.
