Water leak

My 3.0 is leaking coolant from behind the alternator where the intake, head, and water pump meet. Can't see the exact spot since it's in a tight spot. The motor has 255,000 miles on it. Is it worth fixing or should I look for a replacement?

Could be the timing cover leak. They are known for that. Mines been leaking there for 7 years or so. I put a bottle ok K seal in the raidiator a few years ago. It sealed it up for a while. I belive that also sounds like where the thermostat housing is. The upper radiator hose could be leaking there. A crack or something.

Welcome to the forum, I see this is your first post! I would recommend renting a pressure tester from your local parts store and check to see where it's coming from exactly. No need to start the engine or have it warm, do the test with a cold or cool engine so if you need to get your hand in a tight spot you don't have to worry about getting scaled it.

My 3.0 started leaking at about 328K miles, had the timing cover gasket replaced along with the original water pump that was not leaking. Currently have almost 350K miles and still running. Those 3.0 Vulcan engines will keep going as long as they are maintained.
