Well took my first trip with the programmer

and I got 23.4mpg going 80-85 with the a/c on full blast running 93 with the torque/towing program. Before the programmer when I had stock size tires running 87 the highest I got was 20.5 so i'm very happy with my programmer! Oh yeah and the added performance is awesome I think if I was going 70 and not running the ac I could probably get 25mpg easy.

Definitely well worth the money, the added bonuses pay for themselves for sure. I got 16.2 on the way back from the dunes this past weekend and Evan got 20+.

Lol yes I know. I am in the process of adding offroad lights, light bars and the Roush Body kits for the Rangers as well as bed covers, liners and bed rugs. Be patient little grass hopper lol

But seriously, ask and you shall receive. I'm currently working on prices to be sure they are the lowest possible anywhere.

You should be able to get around 18's city with one. I have 30.5x9.5 tires so yours aren't much bigger. I'm avg 19 in city with ac and lots of stop and go.

I guess this is the part when I open mouth, insert foot. After some more searching, I'm not finding any such product for the 4.0 SOHC. I'll go sit in my corner now.....

I believe right now the superchips that I have is only for the 04 3.0. However check with Nick at www.ttperformanceinc.com and he can probably send you in the right way. If not him then bamachips can take care of you. I got mine from Nick though and couldn't be happier.

Thanks for the reference. I've heard about bama chips too, I'd love to have something like that. It's great to see how well they worked out too. Justified purchase if I've ever seen one!

I have a superchips tuner for my 04 ranger 3.0L and it says it works with just about all 04 ford gas trucks including the 4.0L. Mine is the 1714 model to.

bamachips does have the SCT tuners for all 96 up rangers with any engine.

you may find you have better fuel mileage on a performance tune rather than a torque tune, the torque tune adds more fuel to build torque, so on long trips a performance style setting may yield better results

They are very good for milage and the best for the Superchips programmers. I'm working with them to make products for more models as well as help them out on the diesel side of things. They're a little behind but catching up fast in some areas.
