What is this?

Ok so i was looking under my truck for coolant leakage and came across a tiny build up on this thing. I'm not sure what it is or if it could be where the coolant is leaking from, in fact for all i know it could just be from me spilling the coolant as i poured it in. It is located directly below the water pump and in the second picture i circled where there is a little coolant build up. Please enlighten me.

The oil pan?

I see no leaks or the buildup you speak of.

I say put a cord of wood in the bed and drive the thing!

It is probably leaking from somewhere higher and dripping from that point.

you may have the new oil pan gasket. it has clips that clip it to the oil pan so that it doesnt want to move or slide out.

ok thanks...guess that would mean it probably came from some spillage...i'm just a little afraid that i might have to fork out money that i don't have for a bad repair, but i guess this about sums it...hopefully me replacing the rad. cap solves my dissipating coolant problem
