What is the redline?

I did a search and found nothing of use...

I have a 2004 3.0 V6 with teh 5 speed manual tranny...

I was wondering what the redline is? The tach does not say.

5500 or 6000?

You won't hit the redline due to this little thing called a "rev limiter".

I think my 3.0L cut off at like 5600 RPMs or so. So 5000 RPM redline?

The limiter on my 4.0 is 6200ish so I shift at 6000. There is no power up there anyway.

5,500RPM on the stock 3.0l, but really if you had a tuner you could set it up a bit higher. I'm sure with a few mods the 3.0L would love those RPMS. I'd think that some rocker, CAI, Excape TB, headers, and exhaust and you could play up there all day long.

What is it on the 4.0? I saw my needle close to 6 once, scared me. I thought it would cut off at 55 or 58 at the most, why let it spin just cause I was too dumb to get my foot out of it..?

I think the limiter is at 6200 on a SOHC 4.0.

on the 3.0 the rev limiter kicks in about 5600 on the years that didn't have the composite upper intake....on the composite ones it is almost 6000 prolly 5900 or so. Correct me if i am wrong but i believe the acutal redline or blowing point is 6250.
