where to get fuel filter

Went in good old Wal Mart to buy stuff for an oil change and decided, hey why not change the fuel filter while i'm at it. I grabbed the book and turns out, they don't carry one for the 3.0 Flex Fuel engine. Well, the space was blank, so I assumed they didn't. It isn't the same as a non- flex is it?

Go to advanced autoparts, or Oriely's.. they should have your Flex fuel filter in stock.... my autozone didn't have one in stock either. And yes, they are different. Flex Fuel Filter is generally bigger.

The non-Flex Fuel (like on my 2003 Edge) looks like this.

Part number 3591 at NAPA

Fram G9795

Apparently Fram DOES make a flex fuel filter for the 3.0L. Part number G9795
Perhaps Suckmart ( )just doesn't carry it in their inventory. Their parts catalogs are specific to their own stores.

Cross reference to that part number below.

Baldwin part number BF7803
Big A Part number 95667
Carquest part number 86667
Citgo part number G1039
Ford part number 1L2Z-9155-BA
G K Industries Part number FG1039
Hastings part number GF355
Mighty part number FG1039
Motorcraft part number FG-1039
NAPA 3667

Thing that gets me, though, is that I thought the flex fuel filters were just single inlet & outlet. Maybe I'm confusing those with different years of these trucks. I looked up the FF filter for a 2003 3.0L application.

Auto Zone carry's the flex fuel and not flex fuel. The flex fuel is a special order.
