wow i feel like an idiot

it seems that everyone else knows where the vin code is located for the xcal2, i know what the vin is but what part of it, i feel stupid since it seems like everyone else knows, i really wanna order this thing!

look at the bottom of the windshield from the outside on the driver side.

It's not the VIN code, it's the PCM code or "calibration" code. It's independent of your VIN. It basically identifies the "firmware" or programming of your PCM.

It's not the one on the dash. It's in the engine compartment on the passengers side over or next to the PCM itself. It's a 4 character code. Mine is JPC2 for instance. White sticker with black letters.

Mine uses a strategy code not found anywhere. The Xcal picks it and Fred programs for you. The code in your photo looks to short. I'd ask Fred to be sure. Assuming he is the one doing your tunes.
