x-cal 2 ?????

ok..so im a newb at this and im trying to learn. so i found out today that my friend has the sct x-cal 2 on his 4.6 mustang. will this tuner work for me on my 3.0? also can i tune my truck with out messing up his stuff? so the "tunes" that i could get from bamachips are what actually does the tuning not the tuner. (u cant just plug in the tuner and pick "more power" or something with out buying the tunes?) also are the tunes different..(could someone else with a 3.0 send me the link they got in there email to tune there truck?) thanks.

No. the tuner has to be set to your vehicle. If you want to take his and set it for your truck you will have to send the tuner in to have it reprogrammed.

Most of what LJ said is correct but the part about sending in the tuner. They can send you the tunes through email and then you can plug the tuner into your computer and download the tunes onto it. It cost $115 for 3 tunes from Bamachips.

Also, before you could use it on yours, his would have to be returned to stock tune to "unlock" the tuner.

I dont think so. I could be wrong though. But I know that when I set up the tunes on mine I just had the hit the "unlock" button on the LiveLoad program for it to work on my truck. I dont think Mike set his truck back to stock before he sold it.

John is right the tuner has to be set back to stock or it will be locked. Also I believe if you talk to Boss3.0 he doesnt visit this site much, hes mainly over on RPS, he will write tunes for $75 for 3 I believe not sure. You can get tunes sent to your e-mail and then dl them to the programmer and if you are just using those tunes you will be safe. Its pretty straight forward and easy to use. The biggest difference between tunes is the 87 perf and 87 torque that torque tune is so awesome it pulls like no other, but I havent seen or felt a difference between my 87 perf and my 93perf... but thats prolly because I havent been able to use it much at all.

yep, but the sniper tuner has bullets so that you can tune several vehicles with one tuner. I have the XCAL2, but the sniper is a good setup too.
