So I'm in the market for a new (used) Ranger as my '03 Edge got totaled. I'm looking to get into either a 2019 or 2020 crew cab.
One I have my eye on at a local dealership is listed on the website as having the XLT trim package, but the photos show the FX2 decals (see image below). I was under the impression that the FX2 was a different trim style from the XLT and more of an off-road style package. So is this an FX2 or an XLT, or is it indeed both???

BTW... how do these differ from the "Sport" package, which is on a couple of the XLT Rangers I've been looking at as well?

I did some more digging on various sites and was able to answer my own question. Basically, the FX2 can be an XLT as well... just an optional trim package.

 

Yes, the FX2 is a 2 wheel drive off road package. 18 inch wheels, off road type suspension, tow hooks, trailer hitch and locking rear differential.
It does come in the XLT trim.
I just purchased a 2022 two weeks ago and love it so far!
