I recently posted this on the general thread as I am new to this forum and realized it would probably be better to post this on the newer Ranger thread.


I need some opinions from you guys and girls. I am putting in a custom order for my new work vehicle for my small family control business. I have to have the supercab to carry a 6 foot ladder under the tonneau cover because a ladder rack won't fit in my garage. The dealer has a mandatory 3500 Mark up which is why the Lariat 501a package might not be doable. First question Loaded high trim XLT or Lariat without 501A? This will be a Cactus Gray 4x2 supercab.

Second question even with 4x2 what will the FX2 package do for me?

Third question should i go with the dealer options such as the splash guards and retractable tonneau cover or do they mark those up to the point where it would definitely be better to buy aftermarket?

I know super cabs are not very popular but it fits the need. Thank you for any info or experience you guys may have!

 

Check with other dealers, don't pay for that MSRP Mark-up, these new trucks are getting price hikes way too often then expect you to pay additional fees at a dealer-Don't do it.
I shop around and found an out-of-State Dealer selling at $2400 off of MSRP if you place a special order with this dealer. (Including the $1000 from Ford for ordering)
I too am going with a loaded XLT Supercab but in the 4x4 model.
The FX2 will get you the rear locker, tow hooks and better tires, so it is up to you. Not sure what else is in the FX2 package.
I would shop aftermarket for any add-ons for your Ranger Vs Ford's markup on such item's.
