Rear wheel slides in and out a little bit clunks
I heard a clunk when my wife drove away this morning so when she got home I jacked up the truck and shook the wheel it moved in and out about 1/8 of an inch or so the wheel nuts were tight no up and down or rear to front movement. Any ideas thank you for any help

my 99 ranger does the same thing when i shake the bed side to side. Im assuming the axle itself is moving. Maybe C clips in the differential? I looked but cant find much on it... I would take the wheels off and move the axle in and out and see what has play.
