Tonneau cover clamp issue
Tonneau cover clamp issue
Greetings, I have a 2020 Ranger SuperCab. I had a soft, roll-up tonneau cover installed when I initially purchased the truck and the entire time I've had an issue with the clamps staying on. It seems that the thinness of the truck rail and the tonneau rail don't provide enough width to allow the clamps to grip. I have had multiple people look at it. Most recently the shop I took it to changed the clamps, to "better" clamps, and tightened the bolts with an impact driver. They still occasionally slip off particularly if anything nudges them. I even purchased an impact drive for my drill so I could put them back on. They fell off again last week and I'm at my wits end. I've explored other types of covers but they all say no drilling installation which I assume means they clamp on. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you solve it? Open to suggestions if someone has a thought on a solution. Thanks!
