2.9 and 4.0 blocks

the 2.9L and 4.0L OHV are both Cologne engins. So i figure they have the same block, am i right? and if so do they share the same bell housing bolt pattern?

so i could just a 4.0L engin and just drop it right in with out havein to change my tranny?

the blocks are defenitely different but the trannys will swap

2.9 transmissions are NOT near as strong as 4.0 transmissions.....

im gonna change the tranny eventualy any way, i was just wantin to know if i could just swap engins us the 4.0 i found dint come with a tranny. So thans everybody
