i have a 2005 ford fx4 4.0 that stalled at 30 mph took ten minutes to restart after restart ran for 4 hrs then did the same thing the check engine light did not come on outside temp was 0 and had just washed truck any ideas thanks

 

might have somethin to do with the computer but im not to sure tho.

 

Couple weeks ago mine stalled out twice on the way to work and then stalled a bunch of times leaving work. Ended up dying completely at the stop light about 400 feet from my house. Waited a few minutes before trying to start it again and did this over the course of 40 minutes. Eventually called the flatbed, towed the truck over to my house only to have the thing fire up right away. Worst 50 bux I ever spent!

Anyway, I figured that, with low fuel and the truck sitting for a week or so, there must have been condensation in the fuel system somewhere. Filled the tank, put some dry gas in and haven't looked back since.

 

Perhaps your Fuel Pump Inertia switch keeps tripping. Its under the passenger dash where their feet would rest. Its a white cylinder with red rubber on top with a sort of button. Its made to trigger in the event of a crash and shut the pump off but will sometimes break and not work correctly. Try pressing and holding the button next time your truck won't start and turn the key. It should fire up.
