4.0 biggest power gain

i have been wondering what to spend my tax money on and i am pondering between an underpulley kit and a bama tuner. right now i am trying to get the most performance gains and a little gas mileage. which one has the better gains?

Out of both of those, the Tuner is the "best" due to options, power gain, gas mileage, and adjustability.

Icon14 more power

i called the company to buy underdrive pulley, they SELL THEM, was told there is no gain at all , if you are using high revving, high hp. that is what they are for. do your exhaust and air intake to free up the engines power. I am new to the forum ,Iike to research as much as I can before I change anything . 2001 super cab 4x4 4.0 looking to get a little more torque for pulling my travel trailer, 3000 lbs single axle, keep the weight down when on the road. couple gallons of water etc. Any suggestions appreciated. Will post pics. as soon as I learn how.

I'm not on the Welcoming Committee but , Welcome to the Forum.
.
How many miles are on your '01? Manual or automatic?
Are your brakes nice and 'even'?
The 4.0l SOHC has factory cold air intake

With either the 3.73 or 4.10 gears you have enough pull for your 3,000 lb. trailer.
SuperCab 6’ box/4.0l V6 auto/ 3.73 or 4.10 has a GCVW 9,500 and 5,560 lb. Towing Capacity.
3,100lbs Towing Capacity for the manual trans (<56% of an auto’s capacity)
2011 Ford towing guide here:
https://www.fleet.ford.com/content/d...VTTowGuide.pdf
Page 22 has Ranger info
9,500lbs. is the "combined weight" of the Ranger, passengers, cargo in the cab and bed, the weight of the trailer and any cargo in the trailer.
Ranger 4x4 extended cab weights about 3,500lbs leaving 6,000lbs for the rest,

EXAMPLE: 440lbs = people + fuel, leaving 5,560 for trailer maximum
If you are carrying 500lbs more in the bed then max trailer drops to 5,060lbs
YOU>>Most areas require trailer brakes (controller + wire) on any trailer over 1,500lbs

Check your Ranger for existing wiring. I was surprised to learn I had a 4 wire setup.
