4.0 ohv intake manifold question
4.0 ohv intake manifold question
are all the 4.0 ohv intake manifolds interchangeable? have a 2000 and am thinking of getting the older aluminum style if swappable and can find one for a decent price thanks
Well.. maybe it comes down to therminology. No matter what they are called there is an upper and a lower "intake".
The upper has not only the plenum (large open area) but it also has the runners that go from that plenum to each lower intakes port.
Unless you have heads, cams, and spin it past 6k there won't be a performance benefiet. The stock intake is actually very very good at maximizing low and mid-range TQ for such a short stroke motor.

older style manifold is also stock... just prefer the looks, etc of it.. the intake gaskets are different part numbers so don't think direct swap? the older 4.0 also has coil mounted in same place?
