Hesitation with A/C on

I noticed the other day that I have a bit of hesitation problem when my A/C is on. does anyone else have this issue? is it possibly the alternator or a pulley?

any info would be appreciated

Stab the gas harder, the computer will kill the ac if need be.

no Im talking about like 45mph+

I was driving on the highway cruising around 70mph with the a/c on and every once in awhile I would feel like a jerk. it wasnt that bad but it was definetely noticeable to me.

Im just trying to get my truck completely situated before i move

Only time I have ever really noticed the ac cycle is at idle. At cruise regardless of rpm never can tell its running.

I think you should check in to some maintence items.

Clean the maf
air filter
plugs
fuel injector cleaner

How is your IAC?

These are thing just off the top of my head.

You may want to reset the computer for grins.

kinda sounds like what i was experiencing not to long ago. I always have my windows down, but now that I think about it, that day I had the A/C on. hmm...

the plugs and wires are new. I have a new cold air intake. and I could clean the maf and dump some injector cleaner in and see what happens

Ive never had a/c in my previous rangers. But my newest one does, and now that you mentioned it I remember turning it on one day driving about 50 mph. I had a noticeable decrease in engine power and it felt rather sluggish. I just attributed it to the a/c pump adding resistance to the belt and made me consider getting an under drive pulley. Now i see how much a ud pulley would help unload the engine.
I just figured it was normal but maybe someone on here could say for sure that it is.

Does it do it if the defrosters are on? Kinda like a power surge at highway speeds? My 07 does that. Not a major surge but like an "air bubble" per say. I just chalk it up to a sixer trying to pull 4.10's and the a/c..hehehe

Mine doesn't affect any power while driving, I'm thinking you have a problem with your butt dyno

my truck does it on defrost to.its cause when your heater is on defrost the a/c pump kicks on and off but if your switch is on anything else the pump doesn't come on.

Well my gf asked the tech. He can't give a definite answer why it does it. Said there isn't a TSB or recall on that issue either. Go figure....
