94. 6 cyl. 4.0 intermittent starting issues - fuel pump

Ok here's the deal at times turn the key fuel pump runs for 2 seconds truck starts,
Other times turn the fuel pump keeps running won't start
Can start with starting fluid,
What is crazy after truck is warmed up and running I won't have starting issue unless the truck sits for 3 or more hours.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Jim

I had an intermittent starting issue on my 95 Ranger 3.0. I replaced the relay for the fuel pump in the box under the hood fixed my problem.

When you did a fuel pressure test with the new pump and you said you got 39 PSI on the first turn of the key, did it hold onto that pressure for like an hour or so?
