Doing head gaskets on my 98 4.0 OHV and I’m wondering if I need to surface the block? I’m not pulling the engine so whatever surfacing has to be done with the engine in place. Heads will go to the machine shop, want to do this right the first time, any help is much appreciated.

 

Have the head check out. Just take a red scotch pad the the block.
