Air filter recommendation

I know this is a highly opinionated area, but what are the recommendations on high quality air filters? I've done a search (here) and most of what I see is either K&N or paper. Has anyone used the Amsoil EAA122 https://www.amsoil.com/catalog.aspx?code=EAA122-EA? I saw it in a thread and it appears to be the same quality of K&N but much cheaper. Any suggestions will be appreciated!

Purolator. Some studies I looked at a few years ago indicated that they were among the best paper filter for both flow and filtering properties. Some flow better but filter less, some flow worse but filter slightly better. K&N filters flow well but do not do a good job of filtering small particals at all.
Our 97 Explorer had a K&N when we got it and the intake tube (past the filter) was filthy. I cleaned it several times and dirt always got past the filter. My ranger had purolator filters on it all the time and despite tons of time on dirt/gravel/muddy roads my intake tube was always spotless.

I have the Amsoil Filter on my Mustang and after 5,000km's (3,000 miles) the oil is still clean....and I beat the hell out of that car, especially at the track.

Thanks for the input guys. I've had the K&N in a different vehicle and was never thrilled about the amount of time it takes to re-oil. And I've also read how some people here have had issues with the oiled filters and just don't want to deal with those issues.

The k&n on mine caused surges in the maf which make the truck jump/jolt at low rpms but some people didnt have that problem...
