hey guys seems i have one prob after another lately. just did cmp and my truck idles kinda funny. only when in drive, and idling. it seems to jump up and down a few hundred rpm and the truck seems to want to surge forward. when in any other gear seems normal. thanks for help again

 

Is it throwing a code? Sounds like you could be running lean.

btw are u ohv or sohc? it will help us figure it out

 

Vacuum leak? Didn't you just have the upper intake off?

I'm ohv. It idles real high not wanting to die. Intake was just off.

 

No codes yet as I reset them after changing cmp.

 

the only code i have are cylinder 4 and 6 misfire. and lean bank one and two, which i had before. im guessing i put the plug wires on backwords.

 

anyone have the firing order diagram 4 a 98 4.0?

 

nm above post, but im wondering on the intake manifold, i know it has a gasket, ill call them o rings on the underneath of the plastic manifold but should there be one on the surface that it mates with?
