Bamachips

I bought the 3 tune refill and Im just wondering, how are these tunes arriving? By email right?

02oregonedge+ 07-02-2009 10:14 AM

Thats how I got mine. he sends you to a site to download software, then you can download the e-mail tunes from there onto the sct..It's really simple

04blackedge 07-02-2009 10:14 AM

Yup

rangerboy101 07-02-2009 10:20 AM

Ok cool. Well, how long does that normally take? To get the email.

rangerboy101 07-06-2009 12:52 PM

Sooo its been like, 2 weeks and still no email. ??

robert ray69 07-06-2009 02:03 PM

Did you check your spam? I was waiting on tunes for a while and finally called Doug. He said to check your spam folder. Sure enough, there they were like a week old.

rangerboy101 07-06-2009 06:48 PM

Checked the spam folder, nothing. Ill give it another couple of days then I may give Doug a call.

wydopnthrtl 07-07-2009 12:01 PM

Took him 6 weeks total to give me attention. And even when he did It was only 1/2 of **what I asked for when ordering the x-cal w/tunes**.

I got fed up and just bought the tuning software.

Got my tunes on my email but now, how do I get them onto my tuner?

robert ray69 07-09-2009 01:29 PM

Save your emailed tunes to a file. Go to sct`s website and download the live link software. Get the latest version, its free. Start the live link program and it should guide you through. You do have the usb that came with your xcal right? You`re gonna need it.

rangerboy101 07-09-2009 01:32 PM

Yea I have the cable. I just yanked the one off my printer.

rangerboy101 07-09-2009 02:33 PM

.

rangerboy101 07-09-2009 02:53 PM

Do you have to use a laptop to do this?

robert ray69 07-10-2009 04:50 AM

No laptop needed.

*Installing the Software, if already installed skip to the next step*
Make sure the device is not plugged in.
Go to your Email, and save the tune files that were sent to you. For the location, select the desktop.
Go to our Tech Support page, click on Device Updates and Downloads. For drop down 1, pick the X2 Ford - P/N 9400, For Drop down 2, select Device Update software, hit Search. Click on "Click Here to Download" next to the top Program Listed: Liveload 3. Then run and install the Liveload Program.

*Loading the Custom tunes onto the X2*
Now that the Liveload 3 software is Installed, let's open it up. To find it, Press Start / Then All Programs / Then look for the SCT Category / You should see Liveload in the list.
Once Opened, Click on the "BROWSE" button, then browse to the location that you saved the tune files to. (Should be the desktop)
Click on the first file, and press open
This will bring you back to the Liveload Window, Select the file position, and type a Name for the tune file
Once the file position is selected and the Tune Name is populated, press the Add File button at the button, this will add the tune file to your tuner.
For More than one tune file, repeat this process

Thanks for that little write up/how to. I ended up having to give up because I had to leave but it will get finished up tomorrow evening.

rangerboy101 07-11-2009 03:36 PM

Whats the difference between Liveload and Livelink? I have livelink and all of the things that are listed in Roberts directions arnt there. There's no browse button. This is very aggravating.

robert ray69 07-12-2009 06:54 AM

When I click on my sct programs three things pop up... livelink, liveload, xc2 dump. You want live load. The instructions above I copied from sct. Just follow along. Its pretty straight forward.

rangerboy101 07-12-2009 09:24 AM

Ive got it now. Thanks man. Somehow I got the completely wrong prgram downloaded but it's all taken care of now.

rangerboy101 07-12-2009 09:38 AM

New question, I go plug it into the truck and hit program vehicle, then hit install tune, then select 87perf, and then when I turn the key on when it tells me to it says "wrong vehicle" and wont let me do anything. What am I doing wrong here? Hahaha Im such a noob.

robert ray69 07-12-2009 10:50 AM

I dont know `bout that one. I`d guess someone made a mistake with the ecu/comp code. In other words, your tuner is not matched to your truck. Your gonna have to contact Doug on that one unless someone else here has an answer. Thats my guess though...

rangerboy101 07-12-2009 11:19 AM

Ugh... I emailed him so hopefully I can have it fixed sometime soon.

That was my HUGE problem with Doug / Bamachips. There were problems and it would take him 4-5 days each time to get back to me.

His work is good.. its his customer relations that just turned me off. (this is quite the norm for "tuners" out there)

Rich

rangerboy101 07-13-2009 09:08 AM

Well I have time to wait I guess. Ive had a non-tuned truck for this long so I can go without one for a little while longer but I'd like to get it taken care of ASAP.

veNom_bz 07-13-2009 09:38 AM

try unplugging the turner and turning the key to the off position.

plug the tuner back in and wait until you are told to turn the key to the on position. (i was walking someone through a re-flash and they got that error msg).

also to help doug (if my suggestion doesn't work) you should go verify your pcm code, your pcm's strategy and your tuner's serial number.
