Best sound

I have a 4.0 02 fx4, what muffler would give me the best rumple tone, i know it's only a six cyclinder, but that muffler gives the best sound. i plan on doing a single in double out with double side pipes

Gibson is pretty quiet, Magnaflow sounds a little deeper imo. Price for a Gibson system is quite a bit cheaper than a Magnaflow system.

Flowmaster = loudest and deepest
Magnaflow = mellow tone
Borla = just above stock.

i have a magnaflow too, i love the sound of it, deep and low, loud when you put your foot into it, but nice tone when your cruising and not loud and over bearing on long rides

I have a Gibson, but I also got a 3.0. If you replace your cats with a high flow unit the system is no longer quiet... Not in the least bit.

your gonna get alot of opinions here. To be honest the deepest is Flowmaster but its louder than some care for. Magnaflow is a mellow tone and gibson i think just sounds rice.

when i get mine done, i'm going with the flow 50 series... it sounds just like the 40, just a little quieter... i'm in no need of open header volume...

List is pretty darn accurate.

Super 44 FTW! Hands down, it's the best sounding. Out of all the mufflers I've ran on the 4.0 SOHC(Magnaflow, original 40, super 40, dynomax turbo, dynomax ultra flo, glasspack), it gave me exactly what I was after. DEEEEEP tone. VERY powerful exterior sound(LOOOOOOOOOOOVE it when I let someone drive the truck). I can hear it inside, but it's not that bad at all. Radio turned down and you can still hear the radio.

One suggestion....any Flowmaster Super 40 or Super 44 on the SOHC, you'll wanna run tailpipes. Dumped, it's quite obknoxious after a few months. Especially on the freeway.

Something to also remember......watching and listening to vids online only gives you a rough guess on what it sounds like. Camera quality, where the camera's located, computer speakers,,,,etc....alot of variables. NOTHING beats hearing it in real life....NOTHING. That's why I went through so many muffs til I found the right one.
