Hello again. I have another problem that I desperately need help with. I discovered that I have voltage back feeding through my electrical system. And apparently it's a short going through my chassis. Because I got up under the front of my truck. The ground was damp at the time. So when I touched the idle arm under my truck and it shocked me. Wasn't a bad shock but a shock none the less. So I started testing for a short. By taking the positive off the battery. Then use my multimeter to jump from positive wire to positive terminal on battery. Then I started pulling one fuse at a time and testing just to see if I could get a general location of where the short could be. Long story short. After pulling every one of the fuses, I still get 12 volts on multimeter. I went as far as to unplug my distribution box all together. And still 12 volts. I took off my starter. Tested the wires going to it underneath the truck and no voltage registered. But I figured out that if I unplug the 4 wire plug from my alternator. No voltage! But if I put one lead of multimeter on positive and the other to the connecter plate on distribution box. I get 12 volts. I believe this short is ultimately the reason for my crank no start problem. Any help is appreciated

 

Something shorted in the alternator? <<a guess

 

I can't think of any way that could happen,

You can stand barefoot on wet ground and touch either battery terminal and you wouldn't get shocked.

 

Only thing I could come up with was that by me touching it completed the circuit.
