Chugging Noise?
Chugging Noise?
Hi fellow forum members!
I am new to this forum and i am looking for some guidance please.
I recently purchased a 2010 Ranger Sport with 60,000 kms (37,000 miles) and i am very happy with how convenient it is for hauling stuff back and forth to my cabin.
The truck is a 4.0 V6 / automatic / air-conditioning and drives as good as a low- mileage vehicle should.
However, I noticed that, mostly when the engine is cold, when i drive slowly and reach 1500 rpm there is a 'chugging' noise that lasts for about 5 or 6 'chugs' and then stops.
When this happens the truck drives normally ... other than making this weird noise for about 3 or 4 seconds.
It isn't super loud but loud enough that it is definitely noticeable even with my bad ears.
Any ideas where i should start looking?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

You, my friend, may be a genius!
That is exactly when it happens ... about 12 - 15 mph and only for maybe 2 or 3 seconds or so.
Now i can go see if there is a baseball or football game on tv instead of popping my hood!
Thanks ... much appreciated.

Probably has something to do with the rear disc brakes.
