Coolant Temp. Sensor NEED HELP ASAP!!!

Im trying to take the cts off of my 98 Explorer......This one has two sensors.....I am trying to get the one on the left off (gauge sensor)....I started to loosen it and it is threaded into a sleeve......the sleeve is moving too.....What do i do?

mine has a c-clip pressing/holding it in. It's not threaded. 2004 4.0 SOHC.

Mine is threaded into a brass looking sleeve..........sleeve is turning when I try to loosen the sensor
