You probably wont notice that much power gain or mileage gain with just a cold air system. I know when first i install mine the only thing differant i notice was the noise of the air being sucked through the filter.
I have Cold air intake, exhaust, and an electrical fan on mine and to be honest with you it doesnt seem anymore powerful from the day i bought it. However all that togeather did help my gas mileage quite a bit.

Why does the electric fan make that much difference and how does it operate? Is it thermostatically operated or with a switch. I have an electric fan on my street rod and I have it set up to come on at a predetermined water temp BUT I also have an overide switch so I can turn it on when in traffic. Would I need something similar??

just to clear something up, it's technically not CAI because it does not change the location of the airbox.
changing to a higher flow filter or filter and pipe doesn't yield much until it's paired with an exhaust, because you are letting more air in without getting it out quicker.
E-fans are controlled thermostatically
