dual exhaust

I am finally able to get a dual exhaust, I am a tight wad by nature but have money to do what I want, should I take it to a muffler shop and have them install a dual exhaust or should I buy a kit and do it my self, is a weld better than clamps, what type of muffler sounds good but don't generate into the cab really bad, I have a 2006 4.0 automatic 2wd. Thanks for your input

I have heard that clamps are better than weld. With that said I would recommend the magnaflow kit.

Just get a si/do muffler and have the shop fab it up usually cheaper.

having a shop fab it is almost always a lot cheaper. if i had to do it again on my truck i would probably buy the magnaflow kit and install it myself though

I agree with going to a shop and having a cat back installed. A 40 or 50 series SI/DO Flowmaster sounds really good on a Ranger. I had a 3" resonator pipe from the last cat to the muffler, then a 40 series, then pipes coming out the back. Sounded good when getting on it and like zero drone in the cab. However now I have a 10 series flowmaster muffler after the 3"resonator then to custom pipes that come out before the back right tire like a Ford Lightning. Loud is an understatement lol.
