Easiest way to tell the OHV and SOHC apart?

Hi folks,
I was a member previously on here and forgot the pw which was tied to a email address i locked myself out of accidently.... I traded the 03 Ranger XLT in for a Fusion. I've been getting the urge to get off road again and shopped around for a Ranger. I found a 91 advertised with a force fed "not original" engine. I'm probably buying it tomorrow if everything else looks ok. The current owner knows little about the mods to the vehicle. I'm hoping it's a SOHC under the SC and not the OHV. Does anyone know the quickest/easiest way to tell the 2 engines apart underneath all of the plumbing. I'm guessing the front of the head castings will be alot different if they aren't behind to many brackets.

Thanks for any help. I've searched around for a couple of hours on various sites this evening.

Sixx

Thanks for the replies. I brought the truck home today. From looking at the intake it's the ohv which was what i expected. It wasn't the original engine so i was hoping it was the ohc but oh well. :)

It has a Paxton supercharger but the belt was taken off and put in the truck. The shaft can't be turned by hand on the supercharger. Is this normal or is there a chance it's toast ?

I'll try and get some pics hosted sometime soon. I'm beat. Been up 21 hours with 8 hours sleep in two days. Again, thanks for the replies.
