Hi. I am in the process of replacing my 2006 4.0 with a 2011. completely stripped new engine and cleaned every part along with replacing bushings, seals and single use bolts. My question is, Do I need to have the heads machined when replacing the head gasket? Is it common practice to do so?
Advice on this and any other tips with replacement is appreciated.
Thanks

Yes, cleaned, pressure tested, surfaced and new valve guide seals, new valve guide seals should come with head gasket set
