I have a 1993 Ford Explorer with a 4.0 OHV 4x4 auto trans. when i bought the truck it had the wrong EEC in it.( it was one from an explorer with a standard trans.) engine ran great but the overdrive didnt work. i didnt know it was the wrong EEC at the time. then my torque converter blew out and the trans needed to be rebuilt. thats how i found out about the computer. i dont have the original EEC and neither does the guy that sold it to me. i recently bought a used one from a junk yard. trans works great, OD works but engine runs like crap. i finally found out what the number is supossed to be for the original EEC. theres a sticker on the passengers side front door. on the inside part that says 3F01

and at the end of the EEC code there has to be a AA at the end.
the one i bought from the junk yard has a AAB at the end.
i looked on ebay and found a bunch of EEC s for explorers but not the exact one i need... are there EEC s that are compatible with those numbers but from a differnt year model?
