How much oil?

Hey guys first off, happy easter! Anyway i took advantage of the nice weather and changed the oil in my 4.0 sohc. Obviously not my first time, but i noticed that my truck takes an even 5quarts. Bought one of those cheapy Mobile jugs at walmart and it filled it up to the halfway mark on my dipstick. Just curios how much oil yalls 4.0 sohcs take?

5quarts is equal to aprox 4.75 liters so everyones pretty much on the same page it seems. When i pop my hood the previous owner had written 5.5 quarts on the radiator support, along with some other specs. So im glad i didn't follow that, makes me worry tho that hed put that much oil in my engine!

The quantity on the support accounts for oil circulating in the system, if wait to long in reading the level you will get a high reading.

You have a quart to play with and its not a huge deal.

I suggest checking the oil as soon as you shut off the engine and see where you stand.
