Yea, the clutch is shot(23k miles), the motor looks like it has over 100k miles on it... It has been abused I do believe. Kinda sickening if you ask me.

Dang Looks like my buddy Brad was driving it.

All little weld on the piston and a little grinding with the dremel and it will be good as new

Daaaaaamn... maybe you shouldn't be building this car up so much! If he drives it like that STOCK... what's he going to drive it like with 300hp at the tip of his right foot?

That poor, poor engine...

Damn.. Missing an inch long chunk off the piston below the oil ring. Does he run a small pulley or something on the boost device?

I called Kennedy back, informed him about that balancer and how your going to do the whole assembly.. he said ' chuck it then '.

Listen for them Harmonics :)

He can't be running the stock pulley, I ran my Cobalt to the ground. The blower didn't leak like most do, and when I installed a new head gasket the pistons were damn near mint. I was running a 2.5", with a tune thats the smallest they can go without it self destructing itself.

That is a sad sight to see. I know that allot of motors don't like super chargers. In all honesty, the only one I have seen hold up to allot of abuse is my buddies grand prix with the 3800.

Ecotec's and those 3800's are real good motors when it comes time to adding power. Too bad GM skimped out on everything else.

The difference here is: The 3800 GTP engine was designed for boost, as well as the ecotec ss engine. The 4.0l sohc runs 9.7:1 compression(way to high) and to top it off the pistons are crappy hyperuetectic junk. I admit, he probably does beat on the car a lil too much, but it is HIS car, he is paying for it, and he wants to be able to run it hard without this type of damage occuring. Thats what I am here for!

Ecotec has a 9:5:1 just a FYI, yeah its got sodium filled valves, forged rods and crank and all that good stuff. Good luck with the build, hopefully you wont find anything else in the way.

Why would you supercharge a mustang if you weren't going to run it?

Well it's his junk, if he wants to break it, more power to him! I'm just worried he might go power-crazy, lose control, and hurt someone else. If he only beats it on the track, more power to him, I can't wait to see him roasting the tires!

A friend of mine did about the same thing with a new wrx on purpose b/c he didn't wanna start upgrading until the internals were done. If you're planning on replacing them, what's the point of keeping it in good shape?

Run it!

The point is, when you destroy something, you may cost yourself more money than if you just built the motor with nothing wrong with it. If you put a rod through the block, the block is wasted... You wouldnt have to replace the block if you didnt knock a hole in it... You may have to replace a fender or a hood too!!!
