Jerking back and forth when attempting to accelerate.

Newly acquired 2002 Ford Ranger 4.0 liter 6 cylinder. Motor has been freshly rebuilt. The motor only has 230 miles on it. I have been driving like Miss Daisy. Recently when I step on the gas to accelerate the truck has a slight jerk and hesitation. It levels out after I reached the desired speed. I am wondering if it’s a fuel or spark problem. First ranger I have ever owned. Very nice truck. Just need help with the troubleshoot. Please help

I just had the same issue with my truck. Refreshed (replaced all seals and gaskets and replaced worn items) and had that issue. I replaced the Mass airflow sensor, Throttle position sensor, and the Idle Air Control Valve. I know the SVO mustangs were very temperamental with this, so much so that my dad had to keep a spare IAC in the car so he could bolt it up if it started doing its thing. Getting back on point. Try cleaning the MAF and IAC before replacing them. I cleaned all the stuff and it still wasn’t acting right. So I just hit the sensors a couple of times and now they’re working fine. Not exactly sure what fixed it but it’s acting fine now, so I’m just gonna SEEEEENDDD ITTTT
