If I go out tomorrow and clean my MAF, will I be able to see an improvement in gas mileage??? I am trying to get better than 12MPG on my FX4. Installed new plugs gaped at .53 and havent seen any good come from it. I admit I use Safeway Brand gas reg unleaded, havent changed oil in 6000 miles, but I did get new tires inflated properly and put in Lucas gas treatment once a month. At last oil change I put in a quart of Lucas oil additive also.I dont have a lot of money to put into truck so budget fixes would be nice to know of. How about this seafoan stuff i hear about, O'rielleys has it on sale for 7.99 ea.Please let me know

Tips for better mileage: propery inflated tires, regular oil changes, clean air filter, good spark plugs, and many others. Try changing your air filter and running some injector cleaner.

I noticed a quicker start when I cleaned mine. It was slightly covered with a oily lint substance. I had a K&N filter for a few years and found a few sites that said it can allow oil to collect on the wire in the sensor. I went back to a paper filter.
