So I just recently got a 2003 ranger 4.0L auto that needed a trans so I decided I wanted to manual swap it so I got a 1995 Mazda B4000 as the doner truck but my one question is I know you need to swap PCM for manual swap but would I be able to use the one out of the Mazda with the older ohv 4.0 or would I need to find one that was in a 1997 and up ranger with the sohc engine.

 

For it to run right you'll want a SOHC-specific PCM.
Years: 2001 and up.
You could also have the original PCM tuned to remove the auto trans.
