missfire when going out of overdrive
i have a 99 ford ranger and when it goes when it downshifts from overdrive it misses and shakes the entire truck. it only does it when i push the gas in a little more or it needs to downshift instead of a smooth shift. please help!!
Aaron, Your not clear in what your saying here.
Do you mean that when you push the throttle hard enough to "kick down" into the next lower gear that it has a buck or a jerk?
Do you have a check engine light?

hmmm, my aunt had a cylinder miss fire a week or so back. she replaced the plug wires and the coil and it solved the problem. i dont know your exact truck type, but try changing the spark plug wires and the coil (if you dont have a coil, replace the distributor.) see if that works. the price may run you around $100. im not promising it will solve the problem, im just sayin what i know from past experience.
best of luck and pray its not mechanical
