My new 4.0 2005 Ranger should be able to go over 90 right?
New to me 2005 4x4 4.0 SOHC ranger with low miles, used to be a government vehicle. Looked pretty well taking care of and drove great on my test drive, although after buying it I noticed a big issue. Driving on the highway when I hit 90 mph, it starts accelerating incredibly weirdly. It will drop power and stutter every couple seconds while trying to accelerate any further. Couple seconds it will be fine then it will drop all while I'm steady on the pedal.
It seems like something is actually wrong but it could be a issue with that old of an engine trying to go that fast? If not could it be some sort of tuning issue?
Love the truck otherwise!! This forum was helpful while shopping.
