holy crap... tonite i was driving home from steak and shake, and this guy in probably an 88-90 full size bronco started messin with me. so we finally got a clear road and a red light... from a dig i whooped his ***... what the heck?? is that normal... his seemed like a pretty much stock 4x4 bronco.. im still on a high... i really didnt think my slow truck would keep up.

 

ummmmm power to weight ratio comes into play there.......even though he was a v8, you are still have more power per pound than he does......the v8's in those year broncos were under powered because of emmisions....

 

those are heavy machines.. and it might have only been a 5.0L, which only had 185hp in that era. I one played around with my buds '96 bronco with the 5.8L and did pretty well, and that was when my truck was stock.

 

I sucked the doors off a 2001 F150 standard cab flair side 4x4 with the 5.4 when my truck was stock.....that dude was pissed LOL. I also trashed a 2004 F150 S/C short bed with the 4.6L and a nat. asp. Mitsu Eclipse...prolly a 97or 98 model.

 

My friend had a 5.8?L 1994 Bronco and when we raced a few times I barely beat him in my truck. When I raced him back when i drove an 01 jetta vr6 he beat me until about 60 then i flew by.

 

I'll bet $20 it had a 5.0L in it.. with the small 5.0L bronco's are dogs... with the 5.8L they **** and git..

 

Can you say 5-Slow. I've owned several F150 4x4's with a 5.0L. Doggs. I couldn't even hold off an 80's mustang with a 4 banger . Heck, my '99 explorer whooped my old 03' F150 w/5.4L butt (both 4x4's). That's why I went and got me another Ranger. I have alway loved those 4.0L's.
