New Exhaust Setup
For those of you with 4 catalytic converter model 4.0's, I just got my exhaust redone. Chopped off the flowmaster 40 series and put in a Y-pipe. system is 2 & 1/4" pipe. It is one of the better sounding exhaust systems i have heard in a while on our trucks. Its not loud like you would think it would be. I guess 4 cats has something to do with that. I do not have the means to post up a video but its just a suggestion to all of those who are looking for feedback on a good setup.
Always drill out the center of a cat and put a pipe through it so it looks like you have a cat.
I was considering cutting my cats out so I just checked into the emission regulations for Alberta and turns out we have none. As long as its not loud enough to get a ticket your safe. Bye bye cats!! haha
I have a spare set of pipes with the cats so i am going to bring them in to a shop and have them cut out and pipes welded in instead. I dont even need to drill them out to make it look like they are still there. yessssss

Allot of people say you need them to keep enough back pressure in your exhaust system but as long as you have a muffler and its not straight piped from the manifolds or headers back you should be okay
The last cat is downstream of the O2 sensors, so the air going though it has already passed the sensors. Removing it won't have any effect on the sensors and won't give a CEL. Removing the other cats however will usually give a CEL.
I heard you can usually get around this by getting a spacer bushing with the same thread as the sensors and threading it into the pipe then the sensor into the end of the bushing. This will keep the sensor out of the exhaust stream and will not pick up the high o2 or nox levels.

here a quick vid of mine. (not trying to steal your thread)
yes, you can remove a converter that doesn't have an o2 sensor behind it. however, if you have the one cat model, i would highly recommend not removing it. also, his truck sounds really good. My dad is actually the one that did jake's exhaust
also, if you remove some converters, the truck should be louder as the converters also act like mufflers as well

That sounds a little bit too ricer-ish to me.
