No power to my coil pack or crank position sensor
No power to my coil pack or crank position sensor
So I recently replaced my engine on my 96 4.0 and it cranks but no spark I took a voltage tester to it and no power to my crank position sensor or my coil pack I do have power to my main wiring harness I haven’t seen any messed up wires or clips I don’t know what to do or where to look
The crank position sensor generates its own voltage, should be no power to it.
Does your check engine light work?
Key in run position, engine off, check engine light should be on
While cranking engine if check engine light goes out, your crank position sensor is working.

Okay I didn’t know that I thought you could test it in the on position but yes it does go off thank you so that narrows it down to just one problem I just unplugged the wiring harness that’s on the drivers side of the engine and probed the female end and the plug rhat goes to my coil pack and there’s no current going though I haven’t taken anything apart to get a better look but from what I can see the wire if good I don’t know if there’s another plug in between that I’m misssing or what?
