Icon14 oil / filter

i picked up oil today on sale bought 2 filters and 10 liters of quaker state advanced durability, and a quaker state oil filter qs173 this is my first vehicle and first time dealing with stuff like this, not doing my change just yet still have about a month left

Is that the filter that the book called for? Not saying it won't work, but they should take a QS2. The thread and o-ring are the same, I just like the larger size of the QS2 compared to the smaller QS173.

the book at Canadian tire called for that ., im assuming it is idk its my first vehicle first time having to worry about this stuff lol

It'll work fine, it's just a smaller filter than the original one... that's all!
