Oil pump replacement

I have my 99 4.0 still sitting in the truck. The oil pump is known to be bad. Do I need to jack up the tranny to lift the engine enough to get the oil pan off to replace the pump and screen? Do I need to detach from any motor mounts before jacking, if jacking is needed.

I looked in my Haynes manual (#36071) and 5 page references came up. It seems once the oil pan is off, you got access.
In each case the instructions focused on pump removal from a removed engine....so not much help.. Shaft holding tools was mentioned in some cases.
Specific year + engine combos weren't usefully specified.
Is yours a 2WD or 4WD?

Sure, I know the feeling. They don't call 'em Haynes Joke Books for nothing.
Does it look like you can get the oil pan off with the engine & trannie 'in situ'?

Not really. The crossmember interferes with getting to some bolts. I have the top end off so was hoping I could just jack up the rest and not have to take it out completely .
