Which PCV valve do I need? I think I have an oddball. (Yes, I've searched)

I have a 2007 Ranger FX4 with the 4.0L V6. I have 60k miles and haven't changed the PCV valve yet so I bought the PCV valve that Autozone has listed in its in-store reference book. Brought it home, went to put it on, and realized that the one I bought isn't the same as the one that's in it now. The difference is, there's a small electrical port connected to the top of it. I can't seem to find a part number for something that looks like what I have. Everything I have found (and the one I purchased) are the ones made for having the coolant line wrapped around it. Does anyone have any knowledge that would help? All my online and in-store searches have told me I need the PCV valve that I bought.

The newer PCV valves are electrically heated. If you can't get the correct one through the aftermarket, any Ford dealer will be able to order it.

An electrically heated PCV valve? That's interesting. What would be the benefit of that? Either way, it looks like I'll be contacting my local Ford dealership. Thanks for that info!

I'd guess that the reason for the electrical heater is that you don't have to wait for the coolant to warm up as with the previous version. A heated PCV valve is an anti-icing measure, so the sooner the heat is available, the better.

I have the same type, looks like I'll be returning the PCV valve I just bought. It has the coolant line and my truck has the electrical connector.

I tried Autozone, Advanced Auto Parts, O'Riley's and Napa and none of them carry the PCV valve with the electrical connector. In fact, none of them had even heard of them existing. I called my Ford dealership's parts department and he said the cost for one would be $56. I almost pooped myself. Needless to say, I'll be waiting until I actually need to replace it, instead of replacing it for the heck of it since I thought it would only cost a few bucks.

Wow, I may do the same thing. I was going to replace it just for the heck of it too!

This is an emissions part and warrantied for 5 years or 60k.

Pull it out and shake it. If it rattles its good.
